How to correct the reading error?

Postby Leandro » Thursday 28. January 2016, 22:33

Hi, I’ve checked the magnetic field reading of the meter by placing it in a known 50Hz magnetic field from 1µT to 1mT and I detected that the measuring error went from -1dB to -1.8dB. I checked each axis separately and measured the same. The configuration was the following:

• Center freq: 50Hz
• Span: 30Hz.
• RBW: 3Hz.
• Attenuation: 20dB till 100µT and then 30dB.

I wanted to know whether there is a way to correct the reading by software or other method. Thanks.
Leandro.

If your unit shows wrong values send it to our lab for calibration (would cost 199,905 Euros plus shipping).
You can adjust the readings in the MCS software in the calibration menue (see manual).
Did you rise the sample time to maximum (3000mS)? Otherwise you will get slightly to low readings what seems to be the case.

Thank you, I changed the Sweep Time to 3000ms, set a calibration off-set of 0.7dB and I verified the readings for 50Hz, different B field intensities and the reading was very accurate.
